Today is the last mow of the season.  My tractor was just repaired, $350 for a new pulley and belts.  I haven’t mowed since last September.  The grass and leaves are thick.  It is also a windy day.  Not the best for directing the leaves into the woods.  But today is the day I have available to do it. C’est le vie.

This blog idea didn’t go too well.  One entry 20 July.

Had pretty good tomatoes this year.  Beefsteak and Mr. Stripey gave a hundred pounds.  Tons of cherries, red and yellow.  They were good but too many.

The zinnias were great  The raspberries grew well too.

Last week traveling in the UK, I saw a great garden in Malvern, UK.  It was on the grounds of the Great Malvern Priory Church, next to the Abbey Hotel (Recommended).

This week the leaves are falling from the Japanese Maples making a brilliant red mulch.  This is accented by the variegated groundcover.

Watering veggies today. 10 minutes per row.  The grapes have black rot again on the chambourcin, aurora, basically all of the french american hybrids.  The catawba and concord are less effected.
